Talkies is a conceptual cocktail bar for connoisseurs of art and bar culture. The cocktails at Talkies are instruments through which bartenders illuminate historical events, iconic characters, or relevant themes for humanity.

I love evenings that turn smoothly into warm nights. When I see a bunch of unfamiliar faces, I want to meet everyone. These sights, these conversations about youth and eternity, about pictures and movies, about various tastes of cocktails. Fascinating.

Talkies -  about the culture of excesses in art and alcohol.

Guests can not only taste cocktails, but also learn more, for example, about the origin of sound cinema and listen to a live performance of a jazz band.

About Menu

The team chooses a global theme through the prism of which a cocktail menu is created.

Talkies thoroughly studies the field to which it dedicates drinks, its main figures and reproduces their lives or certain periods of history in drinks.

The first menu was general educational and dedicated to great famous figures of the past century. For the second menu, we watched a lot of movies of that time and chose the most interesting ones in our opinion. To make our script look believable, we turned to theater and film actor Viktor Loginov for help. The third cocktail card was related to painting and music. Therefore, we had a collaboration with the artist Chepurna. She drew an incredible picture for each of the 12 cocktails. After, the menu was dedicated to the stars. Together with an astrologer, we created 13 cocktails - 13 signs of the zodiac.

Now in Talkies, the menu is dedicated to the epochs of the development of world art, such as the Renaissance, Avant-garde, Realism, Cubism and others.

The goal of this menu is to incorporate art into everyday life and introduce guests to possibly new styles.

For this, an exhibition booklet menu was created, in which 12 drinks were placed, which AI drew according to our vision and the main features of the era. Already in February 2024, Talkies will introduce a new cocktail menu with a new topical theme. Stay with us!

Bartenders are the main effective face of Talkies. A small family that creates a cocktail card together working behind the bar, in the hall and in the kitchen to prepare starters. They are the superstars of this city. Guests go to their "concerts." That is why there is a heading "shift of the day" in social networks.

Valerii Pronkin

Born in Kryvyi Rih. He is a part-time project manager, bar manager and inspiration for the bar. For a long time, he worked in various bars, watched how the structure works and singled out the most interesting moments in work and communication between guests, investors and the team.

For a long time, I understood how he wants to build a team, what cocktail cards are interesting and what should be special about them. He brought his method of personnel selection and creating cocktail cards to the bar. He regularly traveled to Europe for various bar events and visited a large number of European bars. Already according to the developed scheme, I allocated something for myself personally, and in the future for the bar.

Bar manager

Alyona Yankova

She was born in Cherkasy in 1997. Loves cheeses in combination with wine. She dreams of opening a Talkies Bar in Georgia, because Georgia is her love.

Learn to make wine. The first attempts were at my grandmother's in the village using a family recipe. Likes to travel. Writes poems. She listened to jazz since the 10th grade, because of which her classmates considered her strange. Now he knows all of Sinatra's songs by heart.

Maxim Bashtovenko

Born in 1993 in Chernihiv. Studied at a service college. Played in a rock band. Lived and worked as a bartender in China. Loves Asian food, movies and outdoor recreation. The main values are family and friends. Interested in boxing and MMA. Grows to bar manager. He prepares not only cocktails deliciously. The main dishes are pasta and meat.

Born in Kyiv in 1993. I am a lawyer and economist by education. I have been passionate about football since childhood. I love discovering new things. I enjoy traveling and have visited 25 countries. I also love cooking, with my signature dishes being burgers, lasagna, and pancakes. I am interested in visiting various establishments in Kyiv and during my travels to other countries, exploring new flavors, concepts, interiors, and solutions, as my dream is to open my own bar.
